Aston Villa are nothing if not unpredictable, at least in terms of results. While Villa's play rarely varies, Paul Lambert's side is capable of battling to a surprise result against a good team and then losing to a poor one, all in the same week. Villa took three points from Southampton on Wednesday, scoring three times at St Mary's against the team that started the evening as the best defence in the Premier League. On Sunday, they went to Craven Cottage and got exactly what they deserved from their game against Fulham: nothing.
