When owner Randy Lerner announced his intention to sell Aston Villa and agreed with Paul Lambert that the manager should remain in his job when it's almost inconceivable that any other owner would have resisted sacking him, Villa appeared to be a club with nobody at the tiller. Worse, it was a club drifting towards relegation with nobody trying to save it. And who wants to buy that?
With no buyer found, however, a modicum of activity in the transfer market has at least made 2014/15 seem like 'business as usual', for all that's worth. In this week's Stoppage Time, Chris and Steve discuss an even more important move by Lerner, namely the appointment of Tom Fox as Chief Executive Officer.
