Aston Villa lost to Chelsea. A surprise while we were growing up, an inevitability in 2014. This is the Premier League, where the only statistic that really makes a difference is the net worth of a club's owner. Nevertheless, Paul Lambert's Aston Villa disappointed in their limp 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge and the sense of being beaten before kick-off has rarely been stronger.
In this week's show, Chris and Steve review that game and look forward to what we hope will be a more engaging display against Manchester City at Villa Park on Saturday. There's also a quick mention of Christian Benteke's looming return, and a brief consideration of revelations about Nicklas Helenius' year in Birmingham.
