Assorted things we noticed during Villa's Thursday night walk in the park
In the middle of it all, there was a football match. Or something like one.
Aston Villa had little trouble defeating Maccabi Tel Aviv in the league phase of the Europa League. It took a little while to score the first goal but it was never in any doubt.
A bonus observation: the referee was absurdly lenient with the Maccabi Tel Aviv players. Elad Madmon escaping a booking for the full 90+ minutes was extraordinary.
