Wow. What a win. What a performance. What a day. Arsenal supporters might be surprised by the gusto in our enjoyment of the moment but you’d think they’d be aware of just how good their own team is.

Aston Villa defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday thanks to a winning goal from Emi Buendía in the fifth minute of stoppage time. The timing and circumstances of the winner made for a very special Villa Park moment.

Unai Emery made a tweak to his tactical approach, playing Youri Tielemans in front of the midfield and benefiting from having more of his best players on the pitch.

Tielemans slotted in nicely and Morgan Rogers adapted, playing slightly more than usual off the left in possession and picking up the left-wing position without the ball.

Holy moly, Villa were good.
