There are 15 matches remaining in the Premier League season and every league position, every point, is going to feel like it really counts.

Aston Villa are fighting on but injury problems and a couple of subpar results made January a difficult month for Unai Emery and his team. February begins with a home game against Brentford one day after the chasing teams cranked up the pressure.

Villa should be boosted by the availability of their two new senior signings. Tammy Abraham could go straight into the team as the only fit striker in the squad after signing a permanent deal to return to Villa Park last week.

Emery also brought in former Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz on loan from Juventus for the rest of the season. While the Brazilian will soon be used to help alleviate the midfield injuries blighting Villa’s campaign, my hunch is that he will be on the bench for his first game.
