Veteran Dutch goalkeeper joins the Villans

Aston Villa’s second signing of the summer and indeed their second Dutch signing of the summer is veteran goalkeeper Marco Bizot.

Villa announced Bizot’s signing on Tuesday after his arrival had been widely reported.

The club’s goalkeeping department could be in the process of a major overhaul, with first choice Emiliano Martínez heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park and his understudy (and his understudy) already departed.

Bizot joins Villa as the second choice almost irrespective of who ends up being the first choice, which is pretty obviously the kind of thing you can only sell to a goalkeeper in his mid-thirties.
