Not being able to beat Crystal Palace is one thing. Routinely getting battered by the same opponent time after time is another.

Aston Villa have put themselves in a dreadful spot after a terrible start to the season and there are no excuses left that pass muster after another 3-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles.

We all saw it coming. Maybe that’s part of the problem. But that in no way justifies it and the players and management need to get their shit together on the other side of the international break or this is going to get ugly.

This Premier League defeat was a painful one and sent Villa into transfer deadline day and the international week with a single point and no goals to their name.

The major conclusion is that the performance across the board was not good enough.
