Aston Villa's 2025/26 Premier League season in numbers
Turned out alright in the end, didn't it? Let's look under the bonnet.
There’s just no knocking what Unai Emery and Aston Villa achieved in 2025/26. After the hellish conclusion of the season before and a dismal start to this one, coming up smelling of claret and blue roses is quite a thing.
The Europa League was the crowning glory but going into that final with a Champions League berth already locked up was (a) fun and (b) really important, I believe, for the mood in Istanbul.
Finishing in the top four was the ultimate Premier League target for Villa. It looked a little precarious at times but they eventually did it with a game to spare and ended up knocking Manchester City off on their own patch on the last day to end with a hungover flourish.
Now Emery and his players are away on their holidays or at the World Cup, I’ve been looking back over a successful league season and diving into some of the numbers.
