The Holy Trinity: Aston Villa conclusions from Premier League thrashing of Bournemouth
Villa popped the Cherries in the last game before the international break
Sunday’s Premier League fixture was a big success and an almost perfect way to go into the final international break of 2025.
Aston Villa beat AFC Bournemouth 4-0 at Villa Park to move into the top six in the Premier League and it was a fantastic all-round performance as Unai Emery’s team wiped the floor with one of the division’s best, smartest and most in-form sides.
The only slight fly in the ointment is that Villa didn’t manage to get Ollie Watkins a goal. The striker played well and moved sharply. For the first time in a few weeks the opportunities were there, especially once Villa went in front in the first half.

Here’s your Holy Trinity of match conclusions from Villa’s win against Bournemouth.
